WRITE A ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY BASED ON A PICOT QUESTION

WRITE A ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY BASED ON A PICOT QUESTION. (HEALTH RELATED RESEARCH AND EVIDENCE CLASS)

Based on the agreed upon PICO(T) question for your group project (which must also be approved by the faculty), you will locate evidence-based literature (primary research articles and other evidence-based literature) for the purpose of writing a review of literature.

For this assignment, you are to select a primary research article, preferably one that is a quantitative study and another that used a qualitative research design. A primary research article describes a study undertaken by the authors (lookfor articles in which a clinical problem is described, followed by the research question, a review of the literature, outline of the research design, sampling, and methods for data collection, along with analyses of the data, research findings, and concluding with implications for nursing practice. An article lacking these elements is not a primary research article, which means you need to locate an article that describes a primary research study. The article should be current, that is, within five years of publication (if you encounter difficulty in locating current literature, contact the Blake Library Reference Librarian Sofia Birden; failing that, contact me to discuss this matter). As you read the articles you selected, make notations in the margin about what catches your attention, and the questions you have as you read the study. Then in a Word document, prepare an annotated bibliography. Your annotated bibliography must begin with a correctly formatted APA (2010) citation followed by a summary of the article that describes in sequence what is laid out in the article you are reviewing (use appropriate subheadings):

Introduction/Problem

Literature Review

Purpose of the study

Hypothesis (if a quantitative study)

Design: methods, sampling, data collection

Data Analysis,

Discussion of Findings

Summary, Implications for Practice

Relevance of the study for group

EBP

Use the table in the appendices as a worksheet to assist you in gathering the information for your review of literature (of which this annotated bibliograpy is a part).
