This project is an investigation of a health condition that is not covered in the course. It will allow for the expansion of knowledge and the ability to generalize larger concepts to a variety of health conditions.

Select a disease process that is not covered in this course. Please select from any of the body systems that are covered
in the course, the hematologic system, or reproductive systems. Please do not select from the body systems that you will be covering in NR 282 (gastrointestinal, endocrine, musculoskeletal, neurosensory, and renal). Feel free to have your faculty member approve your selection.
PREPARING THE PAPER:
Please include the following in your paper: body system with name of disease, etiology, pathophysiological process, clinical manifestations and complications, diagnostics, and affected health patterns which list specific impact. Please remember to use APA style for your paper.

Identify common causes and risk factors for the disease, to include age, gender, environmental, genetic, and lifestyle.
Pathophysiological processes 20
Describe how the disease begins from the cause and the mechanisms of the disease that give rise to signs and symptoms.
Remember that pathophysiology should be on a cellular level. Include information related the body’s attempts to overcome the disease as applicable.

Describe the physical signs and symptoms that are important in considering the presence of the disease.
Describe significant and common complications associated with the disease if left untreated.
