The role of leader behaviors in hospital-based emergency departments

Scholarly and Professional Communication in Nursing

Assignment Instructions and Requirements
For your course project, you will be selecting a current practice issue related to healthcare that you have
identified. The project involves a systematic assessment of this issue that may lead to a real-life evidence-based
practice change. These projects may integrate best practices, principles of effective leadership and negotiation
skills, use of information systems to evaluate patient outcomes, and theories of organizational behavior.
Examples of student projects include evaluating and/or modifying current practice standards, increasing clinical
application of evidence-based interventions and adapting or designing an evidence-based intervention.
This course project will be completed in 4 parts, each building upon one another:
I. Topic Selection / PICOT / Clinical Question / Literature Review
II. References
III. APN Quality Improvement course paper
IV. Poster presentation
All hard copy submissions are to be presented and submitted in a professional and scholarly quality  stapled
once at the top left corner, free from marks and creases and in a normal black print quality. Review your work
several times to be certain you are submitting thoughtful, scholarly and professional communication in your
writing. Spelling and grammar check is useful, however, you should always print out your work to proof, as many
common errors are not identified when reading from the computer screen. Remember, you are the last editor of
your work and should not rely just on spelling and grammar check.
Part I: Topic/PICOT/Clinical Question/Literature Review
Do not rush your topic decision. Give this topic and issue identification scholarly and professional
thought, as you will be working with it for the semester. In addition, this topic may prove to be a
