Introduction
Nursing is a form of medical and other related professional care given to either an individual or group of people who have illness so that they can be helped to improve in their health conditions (White 2006). It is also given to persons to maintain their level standards of heath or to recover from a given optimal health conditions. It is important to note here that nursing is a profession which can only be given by professionals either as a home based event or
in a medical facility. The practice of nursing has been in existence from the 5th BC as it was first studied by the Hippocrates as a form of medical profession. In many circumstances many people have disregarded nursing and nurses as less important in the society. In fact the reality is that majority of the people mistake nurses for under qualified doctors (White 2006). As a result many people take most nurses for granted and hold them and their ides with a very low opinion in comparison to that of the doctors. This simple confusion of facts should therefore end as this paper seeks to draw out the concepts of nursing as a stand alone profession with its own ways of actions principles of practice code of ethics.
