Difference between the three paradigms: human needs, interactive, and unitary process

Explain, in your own words, the difference between the three paradigms: human needs, interactive, and unitary process. Which of these best fits your philosophy of nursing?

The three paradigms of nursing such as human needs, interactive process and unitary process were developed by Neumann for the field of nursing and theories. Human needs is a paradigm that is responsible for recognizing the scientific method as a source for research and it includes a focus for the healthcare system. The prime aim is the identification and further reduction of the stressors by the means of intervention by nurses. Patients are considered as bio psychological and mechanistic beings. The nursing study identifies three types of stressors in the study which are intra personal, interpersonal and extra personal. If accruate casue of the problem is identified then there are means to solve the problem and cater tot he human needs. There are levels defined in the nursing intervention to fulfill human needs on primary, secondary and tertiary level. The interactive method uses the process of natural inquiry and direct conversation being the source of obtaining knowledge in the field of nursing and health care. The patients interact and share their problems with the nurses, doctors or the health care system practitioners. The model has recognized three major interactive systems as social, personal and interpersonal.

l. Nursing interventions can have different consequences based over the background and the environment of the client. Gals are achieved by the means of transactions and communication. Unitary paradigm recognizes human beings as self regulating and self evolving beings who are considered to be quite integral to the universe and are interacting with self evolving universal energy system. There is use of Quantitative and Qualitative methods for the purpose of testing of hypothesis. The interactive paradigm best fits the approach and philosophy of nursing because it includes the natural process of interaction in the process of nursing intervention. it is also based over external and internal factors thereby forms a complete and comprehensive system of nursing practice. Also, it includes direct communication to clarify the needs of the nursing practice.
